At Mind and Wellbeing Psychology, we aim to make our fees and payment policies straightforward and easy to understand. The information below outlines our standard session fees, Medicare rebates, private health cover, payment methods and cancellation policy, so you know what to expect before commencing treatment.
STANDARD SESSION FEES
The standard fee as recommended by the Australian Psychological Society, for a standard psychological consultation (46-60 minutes) is $330.00, however, we charge much less than this.
GENERAL HOURS
Clinical Psychologist: with a GP Mental Health Care Plan, the out-of-pocket expense is $100.95 per 50-minute session after the current Medicare rebate of $149.05. The full consultation fee is $250.00 per session for those without a Mental Health Care Plan.
AFTER HOURS (After 4 pm)
Clinical Psychologist: with a GP Mental Health Care Plan, the out-of-pocket expense is $120.95 per 50-minute session after the current Medicare rebate of $149.05. The full consultation fee is $270.00 per session for those without a Mental Health Care Plan.
The full payment needs to be made on the day and we will process your Medicare rebate immediately. The Medicare rebate typically takes between two (2) hours or the nest business day to be deposited into your bank account.
FEE AND CANCELLATION POLICY

If you are referred under a GP Mental Health Care Plan you will be eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $149.05. This will be processed by the treating psychologist at the beginning or the end of the session. The Medicare rebate typically takes between two (2) hours or the nest business day to be deposited into your bank account.
If your costs are being paid by a third party you need a clear agreement and approval beforehand.

If you have Private Health Care Insurance enquire with your health insurer about your entitlements for our psychological services. Many private health care companies cover psychology services under their extras policy. We use HICAPS EFTPOS which supports most private insurance organisations. We provide you with on the spot processing of your private health fund claims.
Please note, Medicare Rebates and Private Health Care cover cannot be claimed at the same time. However, Private Health Care cover may be used, say, instead of a GP Mental Health Care Treatment Plan or when therapy extends beyond the 10 Medicare rebated sessions.
It’s advisable to check with your individual insurance provider to determine the level of cover you will receive.

To avoid transaction fees, we prefer payment prior to appointments via PayID. While using online banking, simply choose to pay via PayID. Our PayID details are our email: info@mindandwellbeing.com.
Otherwise, payment is taken on the day of your appointment via EFTPOS. You are also welcome to pay in cash, and we kindly ask that you bring the exact amount. Your rebate can be processed on the spot, if you have a GP Mental Health Care Plan or private health insurance.

Our cancellation policy aims to support continuity of care and positive treatment outcomes. If your appointment is cancelled with less than 48 business hours notice you will incur a 50% session fee. If you do not attend an appointment (“no show”) or an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 business hours’ notice you will incur a 100% session fee.
As a courtesy you will receive a SMS reminder with the date and time of your appointment at least 48 hours beforehand. It is best to make sure you are clear about your appointment date and time ahead of time as that appointment has been set aside just for you. Cancellation fees may be waived if the reason for cancelling is out of your control i.e., sudden illness or an unexpected serious personal emergency. Please contact us as soon as possible to explain the situation as we are here to help you make your experience with us as smooth as possible.
Please note that Medicare rebates are not available for cancelled appointments and third-party payers usually require clients to be responsible for any cancellation fees. You will be explained the cancellation policy when you book your first appointment and when you first meet with your psychologist.
